Most Captivating Comment from a Reader/Viewer: “I think as your product becomes more polished it may not hold the same resonance, and it’s ability to connect to most people. The safer the content becomes, the more resolved things, I think the less of a reason there may be to watch. Vulnerability is captivating – when you present to us, something like this, that you haven’t quite finished working out yet… that’s what stokes our interest. We started watching your videos because you were unashamed to lay the part of yourself that you were most ashamed of – your shyness and timidity out in the open. I think, as you’ve involved and processed through that, it feels as an audience member that maybe you have been less willing to show us the things now that make you feel less than confident. I can imagine it’s hard, you have a brand that is built on A radical type of authenticity but is that sustainable? I’m not sure. What is true though is that I don’t think you should stop doing this. Whether it is successful or not, I would save up enough money to possibly get into production full-time, whether the production of other up-and-coming YouTube stars or your own scripted content but you never know what will come of this if you keep doing it. Lastly, I know as a Christian it’s difficult. I myself am a Christian, but it can get tiring when a person seems perfect. Or when we get the testimony without the trial. People turn off when people hear about the celibacy but they don’t hear about the struggle behind it. So again, I think that what is most compelling, in any medium, about a person is their willingness to draw open the curtains on their struggle. Maybe there needs to be some exploratory thought on whether that’s worth it to do. I think you’re in a different place in your life than you were when you started this channel, I am glad for you in that. There is nothing wrong that you’re doing, maybe if this had been just a lifestyle channel as opposed to channel predicated on vulnerability the viewership would remain steady. But the expectation is different, I am not quite sure how to retool that from here. God has His hand on your life though so I know the next chapter – whatever that may be – is even bigger than where you are currently.” – VisionProductionTeam

Maya’s Summary About Her Video “Should I Quit YouTube? This is a question I’ve been asking myself a lot lately with YouTube but something I ask myself with all areas of my life. Should I just quit? Should I quit this person? Should I quit this city? Should I quit this job? Quitting is not something I take lightly. I’m stubborn. I’m a taurus, I’m faithful, which is why I have a hard time telling when I should quit.

Reason’s I don’t quit
I’ve invested too much time and resources
I’m too loyal that I’m putting others before myself
I don’t want to feel bad

Before you quit you should
Look at your situation objectively. That involves stepping outside of yourself and really looking at the situation. If this were someone else what advice would you give them?
What other avenues should I explore before I throw in the towel?
Do I have the right tools to be successful? If not ask for help and get those tools.
Fight for what you believe in before walking away.
Maybe my goal is right but my path isn’t. I should try another way.
Aligning my values & beliefs with a person, job, place that makes sense.

When to quit
When fear outweighs your faith
When frustration outweighs reward
When your health either physically or mentally is compromised
Seasonal change. This chapter is done but there’s another ahead

Quitting does not mean you’re a failure or weak. It’s the next phase of the journey.”
